Since 1999, the principals of Gulfstream have purchased loans with over $36 Million of unpaid balances and REOs from various financial institutions. The principals of Gulfstream began their involvement with distressed real estate by purchasing defaulted notes from the Resolution Trust Corp in 1989. Later Gulfstream originated and managed the Riverside Alternative Fixed Income Fund which successfully invested over $250M in Florida tax lien certificates and other distressed assets.

A Gulfstream investment partnership, Hammocks Acquisitions LLC, purchased 53 condominiums and villas including the undeveloped land on the 42 acre site rich with palm hammocks and mangrove canopies. The property was purchased in November 2011 from BB & T Bank. MBROS Real Estate Management II, LLC is actively marketing the units to the public.

Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda are located midway between Sarasota and Ft Myers which both have commercial airports. Heritage Lake Partners purchased 64 townhouses and condominium units plus 48 developed lots in Punta Gorda, Florida through an affiliated LLC on March 28th 2011. The property was purchased from Premier Bank which the held the property as REO.
The purchased units were the remaining units in a completed 450 unit gated development that features Amenity Center, tennis courts and pools. Heritage Lake Partners along with its financial advisor Gulfstream Group is currently marketing the units to the public and completing construction of additional units.
